Naivex (Dolutegravir)
Naivex What is Naivex (Dolutegravir) ? Naivex (Dolutegravir) belongs to a class of HIV drugs called integrase inhibitors. Integrase inhibitors block an HIV enzyme called integrase. By blocking integrase, integrase inhibitors prevent HIV from multiplying and can reduce the amount of HIV in the body.
Mode Of Action Naivex (Dolutegravir) is an HIV-1 antiviral agent. Naivex (Dolutegravir) inhibits HIV integrase by binding to the active site and blocking the strand transfer step to retroviral DNA integration. This is an essential step of the HIV replication cycle and will result in an inhibition of viral activity.
Adverse Side Effetcs Side Effect Of Naivex (Dolutegravir ) Is Insomnia and headache. Serious side effects Of Naivex (Dolutegravir) is allergic reactions and abnormal liver function in patients who were also infected with hepatitis B or C.
Contraindications
Coadministration of Naivex (Dolutegravir) with dofetilide is contraindicated due to the potential for increased dofetilide plasma concentrations and the risk for serious and/or life-threatening events; hypersensitivity.
Uses Naivex (Dolutegravir) is Used For HIV-infected patients. Naivex (Dolutegravir) can be used to treat HIV-infected adults who have never taken HIV therapy and HIV-infected adults who have previously taken HIV therapy , including those who have been treated with other integrase strand transfer inhibitors.
